We are excited to have Sara Gibbens offering lessons here at Walnut Cove Stables! The following is a brief bio she has written in introduction of her experience and philosophies. If you are looking for something a bit different we welcome outside trainers as well.

Training &  Lessons

Sara Gibbens

Hey everyone! My name is Sara Gibbens and I've had a passion for horses my entire life. I got my first pony at age 8 and have been active ever since. My Grandmother trained OTTB's for her entire life, so it was instinct to follow in her footsteps.

I have been competing for 15 years, beginning at the local schooling shows and moving up. I have been molded into the instructor I am today by several great trainers.

My main focus is on hunter/jumper and equitation, however I spent the last year in Ocala Fl learning everything I could about cross country. I also have been under the instruction of dressage trainer Natalya Gryson for some time.

I have been teaching for 10 years and have adapted a very unique style of instruction. My philosophy behind the relationship between horse and rider is simple; everything we do has an impact whether it be positive or negative. I am here to help find a common ground for so that you and your equine partner will be able to excel whichever direction you choose from simply being confident on the trail or competing heavily.

I currently have two Iberian warmbloods that are coming along nicely and will be making their competitive debut spring of 2017 as well as an amazing schoolmaster thoroughbred. Walnut Cove has been a great training facility that has helped me spread my wings. I'd love to help you and your horse spread yours!
